My method is made up of 5 key parts.

1: Single String Scales...

If somebody was to hold a gun to your head and told you that you could only pick one method for learning scales, then this is the one that you should choose! This is definitely the most useful way of learning scales. It's also the most over looked method of learning scales.

You'll learn a great deal about scales from this section all by itself!

You will learn a specific six-step process of memorization that will allow you to deeply imprint onto your brain both the scale degrees and names of the notes of any and all scales over the whole guitar fretboard. Picture what just this one simple technique will do for your overall knowledge of scales. You will grasp scales much better, which means that you will be able to play solos in a much more melodic way.

You will learn the exact same technique exercises that I use myself. These exercises will help you to picture the intervals within a scale. This will lead you to developing an even greater comprehension of the scales that you will learn. These exercises were also created to improve your ability to shift positions on the fretboard fluently. They will also help you to get better at synchronizing your right hand with your left hand.

As a result you will improvise much more fluently, and your technique and speed will improve.

You will learn roughly forty-two different sounding melodic patterns. The majority of advanced guitar players that improvise will all tell you that the ability to internalize melodic motifs is a valuable skill. It is a fact that it is almost impossible to improvise in a way that sounds musical without this ability. When you learn about these melodic patterns you become one of the few elite guitarists that truly makes music while they solo.

You will learn to make up your own unique single string exercises. This is very important, because this will aid you developing your own unique style of playing guitar solos.

You will learn how to mix melodic patterns. This will allow you to create much more interesting guitar solos. This is the section were you will forever imprint the Visual Patterns on your brain, this will allow you to play solos in a very limitless and free manner.

You will learn twenty powerful two-string exercises. The two string exercises will help improve your pull-offs, hammer-ons, alternate picking, and general technique. Two string exercises also improves your ability to play solos everywhere on the guitar fretboard.

3: Three-Note-Per-String Scales...

Many guitarists use this approach to learning scales, because it is one of the best for anyone who is interested in fluidity and speed. Learning the three-note-per-string scales gives you the ability learn nearly any scale over the whole guitar fretboard. This is also an approach to scales that can be used for any styles of music. I have personally used the three-note-per-string scales for styles ranging from blues guitar to speed metal. Below are just a couple of the things that are covered in this section...

You will discover how to make up your very own three-note-per-string fingerings. Thus giving you the self-confidence to create fingerings for just about any scale on the guitar.

You will learn all about the four-step method for remembering any scale fingering. Its both frightening and sad how a lot of methods that teach scales give you the scale fingerings, but don not teach you how to remember them. In this lesson, I go into great detail about how to easily and forever imprint any scale fingering onto your brain. Picture how this will help you learn guitar scales in much less time!

A lot of guitar players simply sound as thought they are doing nothing but playing up-and-down scales when soloing. These types of guitarists perform solos that sound dull, unmusical and rigid. These guitarists fail to create music when they improvise solos.

So what is the answer? Simple...

Ear Training!!!

Ear Training is the key that unlocks the ability to make music. When you train your ear everything about your improvising gets better, because music is sound and music is a hearing art! It just makes common sense that as your capacity to hear improves, so does every thing else.

Over time I have studied a lot of various methods of ear training. A few worked, but the majority of them were boring and frustrating.

Out of my serious study I have created a few of my own methods of ear training that really work. In this section of the site you get the "cliff notes". You will learn the most powerful, practical, and effective approach to ear training scales.
